Monster Yamaha's Cal Crutchlow has revealed that both he and team-mate Colin Edwards are suffering from a mystery problem which makes the handlebars move of their own accord whether they're on the power or off it.
Crutchlow, who is looking for a half-second improvement tomorrow, has looked on his data traces and the bars are moving because the front of the M1 is nervous. The team have made comparisons with the factory outfit and there is no similar problem for Spies or Lorenzo.
"We haven't made any improvement, Colin is struggling with exactly the same thing. The bike is nervous, the handlebars are moving, you can see it on the geometry data, in the middle of turns on and off gas the handlebars are moving. We've got a gyroscopic sensor and it just moves for no reason. The factory team doesn't have it but we have it," said Crutchlow.
"Mine is worse than Colin's looking at the data. I don't know how to fix it, if I did then I would have. As the track temperature gets hotter, it gets worse but it's the same old thing, have we got too much load on the front or not enough? Colin and I have totally different riding styles but we're finding the same thing."
