MotoGP Germany: 'I will not go to Motegi' - Stoner

Repsol Honda's Casey Stoner has categorically stated he will not, under any circumstances, attend the Japanese MotoGP round if it is held at Twin-Ring Motegi  and it looks like he is not the only one as Jorge Lorenzo has also said he will not go there.

Stoner, who has previously reckoned he didn't think it was a good idea, said in front of a packed press conference this evening that there is no way he will travel to the race and will accept any punishments handed out by his team.

"I will not go. My opinion I have had for some time, not as long as Jorge but I took some time to make my decision but I will not go there. I am sure most riders are of the same opinion. That's my decision and I guess it is up to the organisers to figure out what is going to happen," said the Australian.

"We have already discussed it (with the team) but not thoroughly because people are waiting on different things. They know my position now and whether they think I am going to change my mind I don't know. It is something we have to make very clear very soon.

"If there is no race there, there can't be a penalty but I'm not going regardless of anything, I have already made up my mind. This doesn't mean we aren't supporting Japan."

Pedrosa added: "The situation is not clear but most riders do not want to go so we are considering what possibilities we can do."

Lorenzo, who has been vocal on the subject in the past (click here) said: "This is a decision from a long time ago and I have the same position."

At the same press conference, Marc Marquez said if the MotoGP riders wouldn't go, then neither would he, while 125cc poleman Maverick Vinales echoed Marquez in a 'yeah, what he said' kind of way...
