MotoGP Jerez #2: Crutchlow 'not in too much pain' after Friday practice

Britain’s Cal Crutchlow is not in too much pain after taking part in two MotoGP free practice session with a recently-surgeoned wrist and says he will do the best job possible.

Crutchlow had his left scaphoid screwed together on Tuesday after a morning warm-up crash at Jerez last weekend and managed to end the day only 1.8s off the fastest time set by Maverick Vinales.

“It was good to get back on track today with not a bad feeling on the bike to be honest. The team and Honda were very relaxed with me this weekend to see if I could ride,” said Crutchlow.

“I showed it’s possible to ride the bike, although the feeling is a little strange. I don’t have so much pain in the wrist and when I do I just try to ride around it as best as possible.

“I feel the condition of me on the bike is not superb after the crash last week, but we’ll continue to work over the weekend to make me a little bit more comfortable.

“The surgeon, Dr Mir, has done a good job and, along with me keeping ice on the wrist over the weekend to keep the inflammation down, I’ll grit my teeth and try to do my best possible on the bike.”
