PBM Aprilia's James Ellison says he is still vibrating from the amount of chatter he is getting through the frame of his CRT bike at the Jerez MotoGP test and, after trying everything he can think of to get rid of it, is at something of a loss to find a solution.
Ellison, who was only half a second slower than Colin Edwards with far less development time, says that as soon as his team come up with a solution to get rid of it, he can run the same pace as Randy De Puniet - the runaway CRT leader.
"We tried everything to lessen it and it did go away a little bit with the softer Bridgestone tyre but it was still there. I've never known anything like it. We know we have got some good pace because for four corners where I didn't have the problem, I could keep with the prototypes, it's just the longer corners where it's bad," said Ellison, speaking to bikesportnews.com this afternoon.
"As soon as we get it gone, I think I will be able to catch Randy. He has had more development time and is riding well, but he isn't uncatchable. We've got a couple of things to try at Qatar but we have eliminated all the usual things that cause chatter. It's a bit of a mystery."
