MotoGP Le Mans: Chassis tweaks boost Rossi

Factory Yamaha's Valentino Rossi rode into third place on today's combined MotoGP free practice timesheets and says that some chassis tweaks to help tyre life should stand him well come Sunday at Le Mans.

The Doctor, who wants a dry race on Sunday, had two separate settings this morning but made a choice for the second session, getting to within two-tenths of fastest man Dani Pedrosa in the afternoon.

"Already from this morning my speed was good but especially this afternoon we work well on the bike with two different settings to help braking and in the end we decide to follow one way. We modify for save the tyre and don't lose too much traction in acceleration and the modify work," said Rossi, speaking at Le Mans.

"The last exit was the best because I do my best lap and also the rhythm is quite good. I am third but I am very close to the pole position. I did my best laps with a used tyre that had more than 30 laps on. I hope for a dry race because I think that with the Yamaha we can be more competitive in dry condition."
