Movistar Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo says he is grateful that Bridgestone have brought a softer rear tyre to the Le Mans MotoGP round but said the edge grip is still not enough for his liking.
The firm brought its softest rubber to the French race in extra-soft, soft and medium compounds but the shoulder is asymmetric with a hard shoulder to cope with the anticipated, but so far not in evidence, cool temperatures.
“I am happy that Bridgestone finally give us a tyre that is better in the edge grip. It was a problem we had in the first races. Unfortunately, we still have problems when we pick up the bike and open the throttle,” said Lorenzo, speaking at the track.
“In the traction area, the tyre is still too hard so let’s hope Bridgestone make another step, help us stay more safe on the track and be a little more faster.”
