MotoGP Misano: Crutchlow declared fit after arm-pump surgery

LCR Honda’s Cal Crutchlow has been declared fit to ride by medics at this weekend’s Misano MotoGP round after undergoing arm-pump surgery.

The Briton went under the knife earlier this week after experiencing severe symptoms at the Red Bull Ring. It is Crutchlow’s second surgery of the season as he also had a scaphoid operation a couple of weeks ago.

Crutchlow believes the problem occurred because he was compensating for his left hand having been sliced and diced after Jerez.

“I’m sure that it only happened because I compensated for my broken hand. And because it was a million and two degrees. Normally I never have physical problems, I’m in good shape,” he said.

“I had arm pump from lap five until I finished the race. Over the weekend I’d noticed it a little bit as well, I’m not using my left arm at all.

“It’s not even tired, not sore. But my other arm is obviously compensating and I’m probably riding 95 per cent with my right arm. The problem was arm pump in my right forearm. And it was too hard to control the bike.”
