Repsol Honda's Casey Stoner said this afternoon that winning races is more important and enjoyable to him than winning world titles, and he is out to be victorious in as many as he can be this year.
Whether by accident or design, Stoner is sounding more and more like compatriot Mick Doohan every race weekend but the young Aussie still has four more titles (well, three after this year's) before he emulates his hero.
"Until we're in a race that's for the championship and you have to think things through a little bit more but yeah I still want to win races. I still wanna go out there, you win races and championships come as Mick (Doohan) said. I enjoy winning races more than I do championships and I get a lot more satisfaction out of it so I will be going for the race wins," said Stoner, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.
"The championship is getting closer and closer but at the same time it is still a long way away. Hopefully we will be able to fight for another win here but if not we will minimise the damage with points."
