Keyboard warriors have set the internet afire over the last couple of days with rumours that Petronas Yamaha have been courting Andrea Dovizioso in an attempt to hurry Valentino Rossi into signing his contract with the squad.
Rossi has confirmed it is a done deal with Razlan Razali's Malaysia-based operation but there were a few creases to be ironed out including which personnel went where. And even head man Lin Jarvis stated some of that was his fault.
In recent days, rumours have been rife that Dovizioso is in the frame to take the seat as Razali is sick of waiting for Rossi's signature but he has denied it, saying: "Setting the record straight, we are not considering Dovi at all for 2021."
Dovizioso, meanwhile, still doesn't have a job for next year. It looks less and less likely that KTM will bust Iker Lecuona back down to Moto2 in favour of the Italian while Aprilia are still hamstrung by the Iannone situation.
