Bancaja Aprilia's Bradley Smith has taken pole position this afternoon at Misano, nicking it from team-mate and championship leader Julian Simon on the final lap.
Smith finished his final run with a 1'43.727 which beat Simon's best by only one one-hundredth of a second and it looked to be an ASAP one-two- three as Sergio Gadea was sitting in third.
But late laps by Andrea Iannone and Nicolas Terol moved the Spaniard down onto the second row. De Graaf Aprilia's Danny Webb pulled out a great last lap to finish in 13th, which demoted Scott Redding to 14th.
