Factory Yamaha's Ben Spies believes he is capable of getting inside the MotoGP top three next year if he can achieve his full potential and put together a good season of racing in 2013.
The former World Superbike Champion, who moves to Ducati next year, hasn't achieved what he thinks he is capaable of in the premier class and, by his own admission, says there is more to come.
"Next year is going to be a big adventure, a big change but for the rest of the year I am still 100 per cent focused on trying to get the results I believe the team deserves and my crew deserve. We have showed good speed but we have had problems," said Spies, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.
"I have been in World Superbike and you never know what you can do if you go back. I'm not saying we could go back and win the title but we have been there and I have done it. In MotoGP, I know what we can do and that I haven't got the most out of what I can do.
"I had to think a lot about it. I don't want to regret in five years that I left something out there or didn't reach my full potential. Jorge and Casey are the two most talented, Dani when he is healthy is very fast but I do think if we put together a season I that top three in the championship is possible.
"I know we can win races. You can't say exactly what you're going to to do but I know I haven't got the most out of myself."
