Britain’s Moto3 protagonists Danny Kent and John McPhee both brought home points from the Misano MotoGP round after a tough weekend in Italy.
Neither qualified particularly well after losing two sessions to rain on Friday. McPhee managed to claw his way up to 13th while Kent slipped back to 12th suffering with a lack of top speed.
“I didn’t start badly, but we came up against a very large group and we were all fighting a lot amongst ourselves. I would pass on the corners but they would get past me on the straights. It was a little frustrating, because if I had not been in that group I would have had a higher pace throughout the race. Now we’ll just focus on Aragon, which incidentally is one of my favorite tracks. We have to keep working hard,” said the Husqvarna man, who will switch to works Hondas with the Kiefer Racing squad next year.
Scotsman McPhee added: “It was a difficult race for me. At the beginning I felt not so bad. We even improved the bike from yesterday. In the beginning I was pushing realy hard to follow the front group. Then I made some mistakes. At the end it what realy hard to keep the rhythm. It was a difficult race. At the end it was a difficult weekend at all. But take some points is not so bad. Now we have to work really hard for Aragon."
