MarcVDS Moto2 rider Scott Redding is will try to find a setup to extend the life of his Dunlop tyres at Motegi this weekend after he struggled for grip at Aragon and slipped from a winning position down to 15th for a single point.
Redding tried to make a break for it early on but then ran with the leading pack until his tyres started to let him down. Tyre life is crucial at the track with its hard braking/hard acceleration corners.
"I like the Motegi circuit. It's quite a technical track, with a lot of places where you're hard on the brakes, especially into the downhill corners. I had a pretty good result at Motegi last season, finishing in the top five, but it could have been better if I hadn't got held up by Takahashi for so long," said Redding.
"We struggled with rear tyre endurance at Aragon, so we need to try and find a set-up that works better late in the race this weekend. I'm looking forward to Japan and I'm confident we can finish with a good result at Motegi."
