Monster Yamaha's Cal Crutchlow isn't expecting much from tomorrow's MotoGP race at Mugello after problems and missed track time added up to a difficult time in qualifying even though he managed to take seventh place.
The former World Supersport Champion is just behind team-mate Colin Edwards in terms of time but says the lack of track time has not helped - plus the track's length is making it hard for Crutchlow to learn where it goes.
"It's hard to get into a rhythm here as it's so long and I forget which chicane is which. I've not had much track time, I could have gone out in the wet for a couple of laps but I'm not risking my shoulder. This morning, my setup wasn't great and I'm struggling with the front end and changing direction," said the Coventry man.
"I've had no complaints with the rear all weekend and now we're on the back foot. It's been a pain. We were on the back foot because I didn't know the circuit, then you lose a session on the first day and then you miss qualifying, basically, and it's a pain. I'm not expecting much for the race I will just see what I can get. This is the most difficult circuit I have been to, we have had a few problems but we will see tomorrow."
