A torrential downpour has resulted in the cancellation of tonight's MotoGP race. The earlier 125cc outing was also halted after four laps.
Because the races are held at night under floodlights, glare from the squillion-watt bulbs make it impossible for riders so see properly, so race direction have no choice but to declare the conditions unsafe. Whether the meeting will be re-run later in the year, possibly in place of the Hungary round, remains to be seen.
There are some rumours flying around it could be held tomorrow during the day.
