Repsol Honda MotoGP rookie Marc Marquez topped the timesheets again in this evening's third free practice session, heading off reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo while Britain's Cal Crutchlow occupied third spot.
The Spanish wunderkind was just 0.001s faster than compatriot Jorge Lorenzo, on the Factory Yamaha, with a 1'56.084 to set the fastest lap of the weekend so far and is less than a tenth slower than Lorenzo's circuit best of 1'53.927.
Monster Yamaha's Crutchlow led with at the half hour with his lap of 1'56.326 but couldn't better it and he stayed in front of works stable-mate Valentino Rossi, who was 0.090s slower than the Isle of Man resident.
Andrea Dovizioso is proving the Ducati isn't as bad as Rossi made it look last year, coming home in fifth place and only three-tenths off the pace and ahead of title challenger Dani Pedrosa in sixth.
Alvaro Bautista placed seventh with his injured hand with Nikcy Hayden eighth and Bradley Smith popping up to ninth late on, staving off a challenge from Stefan Bradl in tenth.
Aleix Espargaro was the leading CRT runner in 13th, with Hector Barbera and Yonny Hernandez behind him. Colin Edwards was 17th and Michael Laverty 23rd.
