Britain’s Gino Rea was forced out of the Qatar’s Moto2 race in the early stages with an oil leak.

The young Londoner, who is running his own AGT-Team with American backing, was disappointed to be sidelined so early but had no choice as his foot was slipping off the peg.

“I was up in the top 15, top 16 so my manager said. I started having a few moments and then my foot started sliding off the peg. I looked down and my foot was covered in oil. I had to bring it into the pits. It’s frustrating for everyone in the team. It’s no-one’s fault, unlucky really. We will come back stronger in Austin,” said Rea.
