Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi encountered problems with chatter in this afternoon’s second MotoGP free practice session as soon as he went out with the softer of his tyre options for the weekend.
The Doctor spent almost all of the afternoon period on the hard tyre and then came in to change at the end, made on exit but returned to pitlane immeditately. His lap from the morning was still good enough for fifth on the sheets.
“Today was not so bad, we started this morning with a good pace and this afternoon we work well until the last exit. We use some hard tyre for understand but unfortunately we didn’t finsish our work,” said Rossi, speaking at the track.
“When we put the softer tyre, I had some problems with chatter and I wasn’t able to understand my potential. We will have to wait until tomorrow morning to see with the medium tyres.
“It will be important to understand if it is the bike or the tyre that makes too much vibration but we have another set so we can manage.”
