Factory Yamaha MotoGP star Jorge Lorenzo has revealed he turned down an approach by Honda to switch teams for the 2013 season.
Speaking at today's Silverstone press conference, the Spanish former world champion said he listened to his heart and remained with the team that signed him to MotoGP following a glittering 250cc career.
"It was difficult to take this decision at this time. I have an offer from another brand, from Honda, and the decision was very tough. But finally I hear a little bit my heart and my heart is with Yamaha," said Lorenzo.
When pressed on whether it was purely a money decision, Lorenzo tried to avoid the question by saying it wasn't him who talked to teams about money and then Cal Crutchlow answered for his Yamaha stablemate with a simple "No."
