Nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi has said he believes Marc Marquez, who is on the verge of his fifth straight MotoGP win is probably the best motorsport rookie he has ever seen.
The 20-year-old Spaniard has already notched up five wins this season, with the last four coming on the bounce, and has only been off the podium once when he crashed at Mugello.
"Sincerely, what Marc is doing this year is impressive. Marc has started with the championship, in 2000, when I was rookie, I didn't start with the championship because in the first year I think it is impossible," said Rossi, speaking at Silverstone.
"For that reason, I don't win. Well, not just for that. Marc has already arrived with the mind to win and I never see a rookie like him, in all other motorsport that I know."
