Repsol Honda's Casey Stoner has blasted former team-mate Nicky Hayden for getting in the way and waiting for a tow during MotoGP qualifying at Silverstone this afternoon, saying someone of the American's experience should know better.
Stoner says the 2006 world champion waited for him into the slow last corner but ended up blocking the Australian's line in the hope of getting a tow round for a fast lap.
"He's normally a pretty good rider, sensible and stays out of the way but he looked around and saw me coming, wanted to get a tow off me and completely blocked my line. In the middle of the last corner you drift out then come back in to the apex and he has looked around, seen me and accelerated waiting for me to come round," said Stoner, the 2007 world champion.
"It's a slow corner, you know, you have to be patient and I had to pick it up, back off and then try to get going again. It's frustrating as hell and it was blatantly on purpose, I could understand if it was an accident. Coming from Nicky, who I have a fair bit of repsect for, it's disappointing."
