Former MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner has realised he should have left Ducati and moved to Honda 'some time ago' and says that his efforts are more appreciated by the Italian manufacturer.
Speaking on the eve of the Silverstone MotoGP round, Stoner says that he had a good relationship with the Bologna marque up until they point they stopped appreciating what he was doing and it was then he should have made the switch.
"It's been my dream to be with Honda. I believe they were going to be the best opportunity and they were going to listen and give the best effort they could during the season. We changed to win races with something different," said Stoner.
"We had a good relationship with Ducati up until a certain point then they didn't really appreciate what we did for them so for me to come to Honda and finally give us the chance to follow our dream is fantastic and something we realise we should have done some time ago.
"Honda are behind their riders in general. It's not just me they are listening to but all their riders. I think they are given the best feedback they can and we're receiving reward for it. The bike's getting better and better and I believe they've had a good bike for years but I haven't see a massive step forward. We're racing on the same bike as last year but everyone thinks there's been a massive change."
