Factory Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo has admitted he is currently losing the MotoGP game to title rival Casey Stoner and he has made his lot worse by crashing out of today's Silverstone round but is adamant it isn't over.

The reigning world champion fell foul of pushing too hard in torrential conditions, trying to catch and pass Andrea Dovizioso before Stoner got away but he ended up in the hedge one lap before his team-mate and lost the championship lead.

"We made a mistake today, he didn't and he deserved the win. The only thing we can do is try to win the next couple of races if we can. I will push even more now we are behind on points. There is less pressure, less to lose and more to win. I would like to have a more competitive bike but this is the one I have and I am convinced we can win," said the Mallorcan.

"This is a game we are playing and sometimes you can lose, we are losing to Casey but the game is not over. Maybe I had to wait a little bit more and be more patient because the conditions on the track were really bad. Anyway, I wasn't patient, I went into that corner too fast and we can't change the past.

"I have a lot of confidence in the rain, I was fast in the warm up but then on the warm up lap I realised the bike doesn't feel so stable on the puddles compared to how the Hondas looked so I was struggling a lot to follow them but little by little I was getting up to my real pace. I was convinced that if I could overtake Andrea I could catch Stoner.

"I went into the corner some kilometres too fast or maybe with more lean angle. Casey was starting to go away from me as I couldn't pass Andrea. he wasn't so quick at this moment of the race. I didn't have a good feeling because the track was so much water."
