RepsolCaixa's Marc Marquez has finally been ruled out of Moto2 competition at the Valencia MotoGP finale after problems with double vision caused by his massive Sepang highside did not clear up.
The Spanish wunderkind had left it as long as possible to make a decision about racing this weekend but a final decision to not ride was taken earlier today which hands Stefan Bradl the championship trophy.
"Márquez, who waited until the last moment to see if he recovered from his sight problems, will not take part in today's practice nor in tomorrow's race, so the Moto2 title will be for Germany's Stefan Bradl, with whom he has fought a hard battle in the second half of the 2011 season," said a team spokesman.
