Marlboro Ducati's Valentino Rossi believes he is on the limit of grip at the wet Valencia circuit this weekend but has said that if the track remains wet he could be in for a great result as he should be fast after some setup tweaks.
In drying conditions this morning, the nine-time world champion was third fastest, slipping to seventh in the fully-wet second session. The Italian said he had some problems with rear grip but has already come up with a way to fix it.
"The Ducati is good in the wet and also the other guys are very fast but unfortunately this afternoon I have some problem in the setting, especially with the rear part of the bike and I was not as fast as this morning but we understand the problem and we have to wait to adjust because I think in the wet we are quite fast," said The Doctor, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
"I should add that we’re a bit on the limit regarding the asphalt conditions, because it’s very worn and has terrible grip. The rain and the cold make it worse, and it’s very difficult to ride. We’ll have to see how to proceed throughout the weekend, because if it stays wet, we could do pretty well."
