Factory Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo has said he doesn't expect any engine upgrades to his YZR-M1 until at least the Brno MotoGP round but is desperate for something to combat the dominance of Casey Stoner's Repsol Honda.
The reigning word champion still has a slender lead over the Australian after his second place on Sunday but Lorenzo says she would be grateful for anything that will give him a few tenths, be it in the engine or chassis.
"I would like to fight for the wins this year but with this bike it is going to be tough. We need some more power so the bike is quicker but I don't expect any improvements till mid-season, maybe until Brno," said Lorenzo.
"I wait for improvement of anything on the bike, just give me some tenths I will be more satisfied, we need something to fight with Casey. I would like to fight for wins in 2012. I trust the power of Yamaha to make both bikes competitive.
