Gold & Goose

Heading into the second part of the season, Francesco Bagnaia is still searching for the same feeling that he had in 2024.

Francesco Bagnaia returns from the summer break after a disappointing start to his 2025 MotoGP World Championship.

After reflecting on the first half of the season, Bagnaia knows that he must 'change something' to become competitive again.

"The first week was fantastic in Sardinia with my wife and my dog," Bagnaia said when asked by MotoGP.com about his summer break.

"Then I was back at home, and I was training hard. I have been trying to work on myself to try to understand and be ready for this second part, which will be very intense.

"It will be important to start well, and I already understand that my riding style is not suited to this bike. So, we need to change something, and I need to change something.

"We will make some changes and see if I can do something better."

When asked what he needed to change to fight for victories in the second half of the season, Bagnaia explained that what he needed to be able to brake as he used to on the Ducati GP24.

"With this bike I cannot brake how I want to," he explained.

"So, this is the hardest part for me, because it is the biggest difference since 2021 when I joined the Ducati factory team.

"This is the main thing to change, and I am trying to do it."

After rewatching his 2025 season and comparing it to 2024 and 2023, Bagnaia has seen several differences and cannot compare his previous self to himself now.

"I am looking forward to finding my speed again and being competitive," he stated.

"Because I have rewatched many races from last year and the year before. Seeing how competitive I was in the fights, following others, overtaking, braking super hard.

"Watching the first half of the season, I have been a completely different Pecco. Nothing is comparable, and I want to change this thing and try to be more similar to last year."
