Izan Guevara continues to aim for a move into MotoGP despite his underwhelming results in the Moto2 World Championship.
At the start of the 2025 Moto2 World Championship, Izan Guevara made the move across from the CFMoto Aspar Team to the new bLU cRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team.
The Spaniard jumped ship into what seemed to be an ideal team, as he had a clear path to MotoGP from the Pramac Moto2 squad to the MotoGP team.
However, the 2022 Moto3 World Champion has experienced difficulties in the intermediate class since moving up from the lightweight class.
Even though Guevara is in his third year in the Moto2 Championship, his results in 2025 have still been below expectations.
"Ultimately, our results aren't good enough to move up to MotoGP now," Guevara stated.
"There are riders who are faster at the moment. But I'm concentrating on myself, on constantly getting better, and that's all.
"And as a Spaniard, it's much more difficult to move up to MotoGP right now. Manu (Gonzalez), for example, is leading the World Championship and still has a tough time. I'm doing my best, and when the time comes to think about MotoGP, we'll see."
Despite his main ambition being a move to MotoGP in the future, his current focus is on the current Moto2 World Championship.
He added: "Right now, everything is very solid; we all know each other; there's a very good relationship and a very good atmosphere, which is the most important thing within a team.
"I feel very comfortable, which is also very important. So, looking ahead to the second half of the World Championship, things are looking good, really very good."
After 12 rounds of the 2025 Moto2 World Championship, Guevara finds himself 15th in the standings with a best result of fifth place at the Americas Grand Prix and the British Grand Prix.
