Paolo Simoncelli has confirmed that he is set to sign Noah Dettwiler for the 2026 Moto3 World Championship.
Whilst Noah Dettwiler continues to recover from the injuries he sustained at the Malaysian Grand Prix, Paolo Simoncelli confirmed that the Swiss rider is set to sign for his Moto3 squad for 2026.
Dettwiler remains in the hospital in Malaysia, but the latest update from his current team, the CIP Green Power squad, stated that he is no longer in a critical condition.
Simoncelli revealed that he was supposed to be meeting with Dettwiler this week to confirm his arrival at the SIC58 Squadra Corse for the 2026 Moto3 World Championship. However, their meeting has been delayed for the foreseeable future.
Despite the pause in communication and Dettwiler's injuries, Simoncelli remains 'optimistic' that he will sign the 20-year-old for next season, and he will ride alongside Casey O'Gorman.
"As you already know, Noah Dettwiller was involved in a serious accident during the Sepang GP," Simoncelli wrote in his Malaysia post-race blog.
"What you may not know is that he was supposed to be – actually, he will be, because we are optimistic – our new rider alongside O’Gorman.
"We should have met soon for the final signatures, but he’s still in Malaysia, where the icy hand of fate has already shown us its power, and where he went through two cardiac arrests with incredible strength and courage, the removal of his spleen and many other challenges.
"Don’t give up, Noah! The team is waiting for you!"
