Preliminary Motegi report finds radiation levels 'negligible'

A preliminary report handed to the motorcycle racing's governing body, the FIM, has stated that Twin-Ring Motegi is perfectly safe with the radiation risk 'negligible'.

The full report is due to be made available on July 31 but ARPA, the firm commissioned to investigate the radiation levels at the circuit which is 120kms from Fukushima, has given an inital reaction to their findings which is: "Based on the estimate dose it can be said by no doubt that the radiation risk during the race event is negligible."

This, of course, won't please Jorge Lorenzo or Casey Stoner who have both categorically stated they are not going to the Motegi MotoGP round but haven't given any basis for their decisions.
