Rossi welcomes proposed changes to MotoGP test rules

Marlboro Ducati's Valentino Rossi has welcomed proposed changes to the MotoGP testing rules for 2012 which will allow factory riders to test whenever they want but the number of allocated tyres remains the same.

Currently, a team is only allowed to test for eight days with its contracted MotoGP riders. But Dorna boss Carmelo Ezpeleta says he wants to relax that completely while keeping the tyre allocation rules in place so as not to increase that particular bill.

"For us, that’s good news, because we’ll be able to test a bit more and reduce the gap. Anyway, it’s not important how much you test; it’s important how you test, and what you test. So we hope to be able to do it. As I said, there are still many things that we have to test, so we hope they will be the right things," said The Doctor, speaking to bikesportnews.com
