Silverstone is 'tricky and very technical' says Rossi

Marlboro Ducati's Valentino Rossi says he thinks the layout of Silverstone should suit his Demsosedici GP11 when MotoGP rolls into the Northamptonshire circuit in June.

Rossi, who did his first tentative laps on a 1198SP before it broke down and was replaced with a street version, says the track is tricky with a lot of direction changes and is very technical.

"It's tricky, lots of changes of direction at high speed but is a good track for us. I think it will be very technical, because a lot of parts are so fast so the lines are important, but at the same time also two or three parts are very tight and it's very difficult to find good grip on acceleration," said The Doctor, speaking to bikesportnews.com in his garage at Silverstone

"You have to stay on the edge a lot for long corners, very fast. I like it, it's very good. It's always different when you go on the track. But this place is so difficult. The problem is also that in the old section the tarmac is quite damaged. Like in the last corner, the left and right, and the last corner before the old front straight, and also the first corner is completely blind and very fast, so it's difficult to understand the line. And also the rest before the back straight is great. I like."
