Silverstone bosses have said they are working on a solution to try and make sure there is a British round of MotoGP in 2015 following the collapse of an agreement between Donington Park and Circuit of Wales.
Although it is still very early days, Silverstone could well host the race this year if they can come to an agreement with the Welsh project but nothing has yet been decided.
“We can’t say anything at the moment but I can confirm that we are working towards something in the way of a solution, and hopefully we’ll have a statement out either later today or tomorrow,” said a Silvertone spokesman.
“We didn’t have pre-planned contingency agreements with MotoGP or Dorna but we are working with the relevant parties and as I said, we hope to have a statement on the issue shortly.”
