The Moto3 Malaysian Grand Prix has been delayed

Jose Antonio Rueda and Noah Dettwiler 'are concious' and being transported to the hospital after an incident on the Moto3 Sighting Lap.

The opening race of the day at the 2025 Malaysian Grand Prix has been delayed due to an incident on the Moto3 Sighting Lap.

On their way to the grids, Jose Antonio Rueda and Noah Dettwiler collided and both received medical attention trackside, which caused the Red Flag to be waved before the race got underway.

The 2025 Moto3 World Champion, Jose Antonio Rueda, rode into the back of Dettwiler on their way to the grid. It has been reported by the Medical Director that both riders 'are conscious'.

Further updates from the Medical Director have confirmed that Rueda and Dettwiler are being taken to the local hospital via helicopter.

The Moto3 Grand Prix at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit was set to get underway at 04:00 am (GMT), but the event could see lengthy delays as medical checks are completed on the two riders.

It has been confirmed that when the race is restarted, it will be a ten-lap race which will start at 13:40 Local Time (05:40 am GMT).

David Almansa is set to start the Malaysian Grand Prix from pole position for the Leopard Racing Honda squad, and will have Taiyo Furusato alongside him on the front row in second place. Rueda was set to start from third place on the grid, but his slot will be empty.

British riders Scott Ogden and Eddie O'Shea both made their way into Q2 for the Malaysian Grand Prix and will start from 15th and 16th places on the grid.
