Repsol Honda new boy Alex Marquez has put in his first laps on board the Honda RC213V he will campaign in next year’s MotoGP championship but suffered a crash after only seven.

The reigning Moto2 World Champion was only announced alongside brother Marc yesterday and came out on track on an all-black version of Honda’s contender, which was an LCR bike.

Marquez best time as of midday at Valencia 1’34.278, 3.685s off the pace.
