Over the weekend Davide Tardozzi seemingly announced VR46's plans to run Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli in MotoGP next season. However, Pablo Nieto insists no deal is done yet.
Despite the words from Davide Tardozzi over the weekend at Silverstone the VR46 rider lineup for next season is supposedly not confirmed yet. VR46 Team Manager, Pablo Nieto, insists that they have not yet signed any riders for next season.
"We are working on that," Pablo Nieto told the media. "We are close to everything. As soon as possible we will announce the situation with the riders. We are very interested in our riders, we are very interested in the riders that have come to the team."
It was officially announced that VR46 will get factory support from Ducati next season. The team will get a Ducati GP25 next year and a GP24. The VR46 Team will take the factory support from the departing Pramac Racing.
"To be a factory support team for Ducati is going to be very special for us," Nieto continued. "We know we have to work a lot but it is very important to work with Ducati so this is the most important thing. It is going to be a big step for us, the riders, the manufacturer, the team, for all the staff so we are very happy."
"To have a factory bike is important for the team, for the riders, for everything. I hope we can give our support to Ducati to help them grow, this is very important. I know that they will help us to grow as a team and to have the best bike in MotoGP is really important for us."
