Yamaha MotoGP bosses are expecting to finalise a deal to retain former world champion Jorge Lorenzo for another year in the blue riband class at Indianapolis.

Reports in European media state that the contract has already been signed but a spokesman for the team told bikesportnews.com that is not the case and the finer points will be ironed out in America.

“Jorge has not yet signed the contract. His management are speaking with the team and a definitive solution is expected at Indianapolis,” he said.
