Cookstown rider Gary McCoy is lined up to make his Isle of Man TT debut in 2026, racing two classes, having originally planned his debut for 2025.
McCoy has been featured on the North West 200 entry lists for several years by now, but it was the major Northern Irish road race that last year brought him an injury that kept him away from what was due to be his first Isle of Man TT.
Having missed out on his first chance to race for the first time at the Isle of Man TT last year, McCoy is now set to start his TT career in 2026 and he will compete in two classes.
In the Supersport class, McCoy is set to race a Suzuki GSX-R750, while in the Superstock class he will ride a BMW.
“I’m excited to finally get the opportunity to ride the TT,” said McCoy, who hasn’t raced the Manx Grand Prix, opting instead for the Isle of Man TT’s newcomer programme to get him on the entry list.
“Missing last year was difficult after putting so much work into getting there, but the priority was getting fully recovered and back racing.
“The aim this year is to learn as much as possible, gain experience and enjoy the whole TT journey without any pressure.”
The 2026 Isle of Man TT is due to run from 25 May until 6 June. Supersport races are scheduled for 2 June and 5 June, while the Superstock races are due to take place on 30 May and 3 June.
