Jamie Cringle has confirmed his 1,000cc plans for the 2026 Isle of Man TT, and will ride a BMW for Cosmic Racing.
28-year-old Manxman Cringle has raced Hondas in the past, so the move to BMW this year will be something new. The bike itself, which Cringle will pride in both the Superbike and Superstock classes at this year’s TT, will be prepared by PHR Performance, the motorcycle performance tuning company owned by Peter Hickman. Hickman, of course, has taken all of his 1,000cc road racing victories, including his 12 TT wins, aboard BMW machinery, originally with the S1000 RR and more recently with the M1000 RR
“It’s a massive opportunity for me, having support from Derek [Sheils] and the team behind Cosmic Racing gives me a real platform to push on in the big bike races," said Cringle.
"Each year I’ve improved at the TT, the goal now is to keep building lap speed and move further up the leaderboard.”
The Cosmic Racing team will be run by former road racer Derek Sheils, who will open a new chapter of his road racing career as a team manager this year.
“Jamie [Cringle] has shown steady progression since his debut, and he’s proven he can deliver strong, consistent rides,” said Sheils.
“With the BMW package from PHR Performance, we believe we have the right tools to make another step forward.
“The aim is to give him the structure and support needed to maximise his potential on the Mountain Course.
“We’re very grateful to all of our sponsors and partners for helping us create this exciting project with Cosmic Racing.”
