2023 WorldSBK Championship Standings [After Rd.4 of 12 - Catalunya WorldSBK]

Wins nine, ten and eleven of a possible 12 have seen Alvaro Bautista take another sizeable step towards a second straight WorldSBK Championship title in 2023.

The Spaniard was barely touchable throughout the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona weekend as he reeled off three wins from three pole positions.

Only a brief moment on lap one of Race 2 when Toprak Razgatlioglu nosed ahead for half-a-revolution would see something other than the Aruba.it Ducati lead proceedings all weekend.

With just his spill from the Superpole Race in Indonesia blotting a maximum possible haul of points for his 2023 WorldSBK copybook, it means Bautista's advantage up top stands at a mammoth 69 points over Toprak Razgatlioglu, extending to 103 points to third place man Andrea Locatelli.

Elsewhere, despite crashing to his third DNF of the season in the Superpole Race, Jonathan Rea rises one spot to fourth overall at the expense of Axel Bassani, who slips to fifth but remains ahead of factory Ducati rider Michael Ruben Rinaldi in seventh.

Between them comes Dominique Aegerter, who remains top rookie and moves just 18 points shy of Bassani in the fight for Independent honours.

Other winners over the weekend included Xavi Vierge and Iker Lecuona, both of which have no nudged into the overall top ten, but it was bad news for ROKiT BMW, who have gone the other way after Scott Redding failed to score all weekend, dropping him to 15th overall.
