Andrea Iannone, Go Eleven Ducati adopts retro look for much vaunted 2024 WorldSBK comeback

Go Eleven Ducati

Andrea Iannone has pulled the wraps off the machine he will campaign in his first competitive racing season since the 2019 MotoGP season when he was suspended for doping offences.

The Italian's WorldSBK debut in 2024 is one of several high-profile headlines primed for the start of the season, which gets underway in Australia on 22-24 February at Phillip Island.

Iannone returns to racing for the first time in more than four years after he was banned provisionally for 18 months in November 2019 on the back of a positive reading for a banned substance. This was then increased to four years on appeal from the World Anti-Doping Agency, a suspension that only concluded in November 2023.

At the time Iannone competed in MotoGP - where he is a race winner - with Aprilia, but for his comeback he will still return to the international stage in WorldSBK with the independent Team Go Eleven outfit aboard a Ducati Panigale V4 R.

Despite the time out, the 34-year old has already shown promising results in pre-season testing - setting a top five lap time on the first day of pre-season testing held at Portimao - and has now revealed the machine he will be racing.

In a change for Team Go Eleven - which has competed in a white, black and aquamarine blue scheme for the past three seasons - the Ducati will wear the yellow hues inspired by the manufacturer's one-off livery showcased by the factory teams in both WorldSBK and MotoGP at Misano in 2023.

Iannone is one of five rookies lining up on the grid at Phillip Island this season together with Sam Lowes [Marc VDS Ducati], Nicolo Bulega [Aruba.it Ducati], Tarran Mackenzie and Adam Norrodin [Petonas MIE Racing Honda]
