Despite rumours suggesting Toprak Razgatlioglu will be in MotoGP come 2026, BMW is still determined to retain him.
The latest rumours from the MotoGP and World Superbike paddocks suggest that Toprak Razgatlioglu's future lies in the Grand Prix paddock.
The 2021 and 2024 World Superbike Champion has been rumoured to leave BMW for Honda in the MotoGP paddock. However, nothing is in place, and the Turkish rider is technically still up for grabs for the 2026 season.
The ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team signed Razgatlioglu for the 2024 season, in which he won the German manufacturer their first WorldSBK title.
However, now they could be in a difficult situation if Razgatlioglu decides to walk away at the end of the year.
"This is a difficult situation; we have to see how we can manage this together," BMW Racing Director Sven Blusch told SPEEDWEEK.com.
"The only thing you can do in a situation like this is to make Toprak feel good. He's given us a lot, and the title is extremely important to us. We naturally want Toprak to be happy and are offering him the option of staying with us, which is a priority for us.
"But Toprak is always looking for a challenge and is currently looking elsewhere. I'm in close contact with Kenan and am considering what we can offer him so that we can perhaps keep him with us."
Razgatlioglu has made it clear that his ambition is to race in MotoGP, and his manager, Kenan Sofuoglu, has revealed that they have offers to move to the Grand Prix paddock.
Despite the ever-present rumours of BMW arriving in MotoGP, Blusch has confirmed that there are no plans in place for the near future.
"We can't offer him that side of things," Blusch said.
"But everything has to be right for Toprak to move to another paddock. If he were to do that, his goal will be to be successful there as well.
"So, it's important which direction the offers go. I hope we can offer him a package that he might not yet be sure about which direction to choose."
