Tommy Bridewell will participate in the Italian World Superbike Round with Honda Racing UK.

The World Superbike Championship heads to Cremona for the first time next weekend and they will be joined by a special guest. The reigning British Superbike Champion, Tommy Bridewell, will also be on track.

Bridewell will compete on a WorldSBK-spec Honda CBR1000RR-R and has experience in both the Championship and at Cremona after he took part in a test there in the summer. During his test at Cremona Bridewell was joined on track by Team HRC riders Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge.

Honda Racing UK and Team HRC worked closely together, which they will continue to do during the Italian round at Cremona.

This will be Bridewell's first time lining up on the WorldSBK grid since 2019 when he raced at Jerez on a Ducati with the Team GoEleven squad.

“I’m here to race; it’s what I love doing" - Tommy Bridewell

Discussing his first WorldSBK appearance since 2019, Bridewell said: “I’m here to race; it’s what I love doing so I’m really looking forward to it, to be honest. We had hoped to join the WorldSBK race at Donington but unfortunately, the stars didn’t quite align for this to happen.

"I really enjoyed the Cremona wildcard evaluation a few months ago so it’ll be great to have the opportunity to put into practice some of the things we learnt from this and keep on building the momentum ahead of the final few races of the BSB season."

Team Manager Havier Beltran added: “We are delighted to take this opportunity and participate at the World Superbike race at Cremona next weekend. The prospect of continuing to work closely with our HRC colleagues in the WorldSBK paddock was a chance not to be missed.”

Bridewell currently leads the British Superbike Championship with only three rounds to go. So far in 2024 Bridewell has won two races and stood on the podium a further 13 times. But with nine races left the Honda rider only has a 19-point lead in the Championship as he aims to win back-to-back BSB titles.
