Despite discussing retirement, Andrea Iannone has begun teasing his 2026 World Superbike plans after losing his GoEleven ride.
It has been made clear that Andrea Iannone's chances of remaining in the Team Pata GoEleven squad are slim for the 2026 World Superbike season.
There had been suggestions from the Italian himself that he would retire at the end of the 2025 season. However, ahead of the Aragon World Superbike round, he confirmed that he wants to be on the grid for the 2026 season.
"We have something, but now is not the best moment to talk about next year," Iannone revealed to WorldSBK.com on Thursday at Aragon.
"We will wait a little bit more, but in any case, I think it will arrive. I never give up in my career or my life, I think I have a great chance to achieve great results in this Championship. For sure, I will try to continue in a really good situation in this paddock."
MotorLand Aragon holds happy memories for Andrea Iannone as it is the circuit where he claimed his first and only World Superbike victory.
The Italian won the opening race of the weekend last year and is hoping he can repeat the same results this weekend.
"For sure, it was one of the best days of my life," Iannone said when asked about his win at MotorLand Aragon in 2024.
"Because after a long time, to come back and win, I reserved this feeling, and it was incredible."
When asked if he could repeat his 2024 performance this weekend, he said: "I don't know, never say, never. In any case, this season has been really difficult for us. We always meet many things, many problems, and many difficult situations to manage.
"But last year here we made a very good result, but last year we were more consistent everywhere, and closer to the top riders. But we will see, never say never.
"I think we will have to try to start in the best situation, the best conditions, and find a good feeling from the beginning."
