Iker Lecuona thinks the Hungarian World Superbike Round will be 'challenging' as he 'doesn't really like the track'.
Ever since the first test around the Balaton Park Circuit, Iker Lecuona has expressed his true feelings about the new circuit.
At the end of June, after testing a stock Honda CBR1000RR-R around the circuit, Lecuona said that he 'simply doesn't like' the layout.
Ahead of the Hungarian World Superbike Round this weekend, the Spaniard has repeated the statement of disliking the new circuit and also expects it to be tough to adapt a Superbike to the layout.
"We come to Balaton after a demanding race weekend in the UK, and we now expect another tough one albeit for different reasons," Lecuona admitted.
"What we took from Donington anyway is that if we stay focused and work in the right way, we can really make the most of our current bike setup, no matter the conditions. We need to keep the same mindset in Hungary because, honestly, I don’t really like the track.
"We did a short test there with the stock CBR, and I feel that adapting the Superbike to that layout will be challenging. Having said that, it will be the same for everyone, so we’ll try to manage it in the best way and keep pushing to continue the positive working trend we’ve had over the last few rounds."
Heading into the eighth round of the 2025 World Superbike Championship, the Team HRC duo of Xavi Vierge and Lecuona find themselves in seventh and eighth place.
The two Spanish riders are both on 90 points each, after Lecuona lost ground in the standings after a difficult weekend at Donington Park.
