Big changes are on the way for Team HRC for the 2026 World Superbike season, with new riders and management entering the garage.
There will be big changes in the factory Honda World Superbike squad for the 2026 season, with changes to the rider line-up and management in the team.
Current Team HRC Team Manager, Jose Escamez, discussed the changes ahead of the Estoril World Superbike Round, and believes that Jake Dixon and Somkiat Chantra are 'good choices' for Honda.
"I think it is a good choice," Escamez told WorldSBK.com when asked about Honda's new World Superbike rider line-up.
"There are two riders who have potential and are coming from different classes, and have long experience. So, I believe it will be interesting to see them in this type of Championship, with this bike."
There are high expectations for Dixon and Chantra, but Escamez and Honda know that it will take the British and Thai riders time to adapt to the Honda CBR1000RR-R.
"I think there will be a matter of time where they need to understand and adapt themselves to this bike," he explained.
"As well as some of the new tracks, which will be one of the key points on this matter. Because looking at some of the places they have not ridden, it will take time to understand and learn."
As well as the brand new rider line-up, the Japanese manufacturer has decided to make changes to the management of their factory World Superbike squad.
Escamez took over from Leon Camier at the end of the 2023 World Superbike season, but after two full seasons, the Spaniard will no longer continue with the project. He will be replaced by Yuji Mori, who has already been a part of the Superbike project.
"There will be a new role changing for the Team Manager," he revealed.
"There will be Yuji Mori, who has been a part of the project for a long time. So far, this is the plan, and I will not continue with the project."
