After two days of testing at MotorLand Aragon, Xavi Vierge believes Honda can close the gap to the front manufacturers.
Xavi Vierge was the only full-time Honda HRC rider on track for the Aragon World Superbike Test, as his teammate, Iker Lecuona, continues to recover.
The Spanish rider completed a two-day test at MotorLand Aragon on the Honda CBR1000RR-R to get back up to speed after a long summer break.
Vierge's focus across the two days was to work on testing electronics and some new elements in the braking area, as well as preparing himself for Round 10 of the 2025 season, which will be held at the same venue.
"It’s nice to be back on track after the long summer break," Vierge said after the Aragon Test.
"Unfortunately, we lost Monday morning as the track was half wet, half dry. We had a busy afternoon as a result, working hard to test everything in our work plan, electronics, brakes, and many things.
"The track conditions improved as the day went on, and the feeling was quite good. We completed most of what we had planned, finding some positives along the way. We worked with race tyres, which was important, and the pace was quite good.
"Second day the conditions were sunny until one hour to the end we were able to work on many areas of the bike and to collect a lot of data. I think we found some little positives that it will help us to close a bit the gap on the front in the next races."
After eight rounds of the 2025 World Superbike Championship, Vierge finds himself as the top Honda in the World Championship as he sits seventh, but is still searching for his first podium since the 2023 Indonesian Round.
