Miguel Oliveira will sit out the remainder of the Argentine Grand Prix

After his crash during the Sprint Race, Miguel Oliveira will not participate in Sunday's track action in Argentina.

Miguel Oliveira will not take part in Sunday's proceedings at the Argentine Grand Prix due to 'concerns regarding the ligaments of the left shoulder'.

After crashing in an incident with Fermin Aldeguer, the Portuguese rider was taken to the hospital after the Sprint Race.

Aldeguer has since apologised to Oliveira, and the Pramac Yamaha rider was cleared of any fractures after a check up at the hospital. However, there are concerns regarding the condition of his shoulder ligaments, which has led to his withdrawal.

“Miguel [Oliveira] will fly back home tomorrow morning and therefore will miss the Argentina GP,” reads a Dorna update.

“Even if the scan he had this afternoon does not show any fracture of his sternoclavicular area, there are some concerns regarding the ligaments of the left shoulder.

“So it was decided that the best option is to avoid any unnecessary risks and have him evaluated at home.”

Oliveira now has two weeks to recover in time for the third round of the 2025 season, which will take place in Austin, Texas on 28-30 March.

However, if the 30-year-old is not fit in time for the American Grand Prix, complications will arise over his replacement. Yamaha Test Rider, Augusto Fernandez, is scheduled to replace the recovering Jonathan Rea on the same weekend at the Portimao World Superbike round.
