The Argentine Grand Prix was Jake Dixon's fifth Grand Prix victory and his first with his new team.
In his second Grand Prix with the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team, Jake Dixon was able to claim his first victory for his new team.
The British rider dominated the Argentine Grand Prix as he led from the first corner until the chequered flag. This sensational ride from the 29-year-old was also his fifth Grand Prix victory, after winning four previously with the Aspar Team.
Dixon's previous four victories had all occurred while he was on a Kalex chassis, but this was his first with a Boscoscuro chassis.
After the race, Dixon was very grateful for the ride that he had put together and thanked his team for all of their hard work.
"You always set out to win but it’s not that easy, especially in Moto2 against these guys," Dixon said.
"But this win is up there with the highlights of my career. I’m with a new team, riding a new chassis and that’s always difficult to adapt to.
"In the last five laps, I was reflecting on all the dedication I’ve put in. I’m trying to be a different version of me this year and enjoy the good moments we have, as well as limit the bad ones.
"I want to say a massive thanks to my crew. The Elf Marc VDS team is working fantastically. I can’t thank my boys – Lucio, Micky and Nacho – enough. They work tirelessly and are on another level."
Dixon is now second in the Moto2 World Championship after two race weekends. The British rider is 11 points behind Manuel Gonzalez who won the season opener in Thailand and finished second in Argentina.
