Ducati has confirmed that Nicolo Bulega will move to MotoGP in 2027 after three seasons at its factory WorldSBK team.
Bulega’s MotoGP move has not come as a surprise, the Italian has made it clear for several months that a move to the grand prix paddock is likely for next season, although it has taken until now for the move to be confirmed.
The Italian has dominated the 2026 WorldSBK season, winning 26 of 27 races so far, and can win the title at the next race at Cremona Circuit at the end of September.
Bulega will move to MotoGP with the VR46 Ducati team, the same squad he made his world championship debut with in 2016 in Moto3. The 26-year-old will partner Fermin Aldeguer at the Italian squad, while Franco Morbidelli is expected to be announced as Bulega’s replacement at the factory Ducati WorldSBK team.
